If your anything like me, you'll get pretty frustrated after learning so much and failing at putting it into practice. I have a simple tip you can use to boost your productivity, and its so simple and overlooked, you will laugh at the idea!
The tip is to simply set 1 hour timers on your phone or clock
Thats It! When you have limited time to do something there are so many benefits which you will feel. Below are just a few
- You generally do things quicker to fit more tasks in
- You have a known deadline to work to
- You know you can relax after the hour (therefore you stay on task throughout the hour)
- Work doesn't drag on for more than an hour
- You gain a more accurate idea of how long things actually take to do as the hour is now your measuring dimension
- You feel more sense of accomplishment!
Physical time pieces are BETTER than phone timers
Now, its important to remember that any time you set a timer on your phone, you'll want to check Facebook, you will want to reply to that text which just came through, you will want to post a picture on Instagram of you about to work at your desk, when in reality, all your doing is getting sidetracked just when your about to sit down and do work
So to alleviate this problem, you should use a physical timepiece. This doesn't have to be fancy, it can just be the nearest wall clock if you really want, but the whole idea of timed sessions is so that your alerted when times up!
