Has anybody marketed through Meetup.com?

Hey all. Curious to know if anybody here has successfully marketed through Meetup.com. Is it a viable source? Can you promote your business/startup through its events, or host an event (which promotes your startup) of your own on the platform?

Also- does anybody know what are Meetup's policies/rules on self-promotion?
