So I made a video called 'Top 5 Electric Skateboards Of 2016' and uploaded it to YouTube 13 days ago. I purchased 2 Fiverr gigs; 1 for 1000 social signals (basically shares of the video to the popular social networks) as well as 700 backlinks, and the other gig was for 6000 views, 70 likes, and 8 comments.
The gigs have been delivered now and my video is ranking well for nearly all of the tags that I used when uploading (I used a keyword research tool to work out how to tag my videos as well as did competitor research and optimized my videos description for SEO purposes). My video is now growing organically at approximately 250 views per day with no maintenance required.
The whole purpose of making this channel, the video, spending $10 on promotion, and researching exactly what to do was to test a video content marketing strategy that I have been tinkering with and improving. Now obviously there is more to it then in the above paragraphs but it is definitely possible to gain traction on YouTube without spending bucketloads of money or alot of time on promotion.
I have netted myself a few dollars in advertising revenue so far (enough to cover the initial expenses) as well as my first commission as an Amazon Associate/affiliate (by adding some affiliate links to electric skateboards on Amazon). As the order has not shipped yet I don't know how much the commission is but needless to say, I was pretty excited to see that order number.
I have had a quite night and felt like sharing. Cheers all! :)
