If you're constantly thinking about how you're going to be better than others, it means you're not focusing on what's important, which is to be better than your former self.Competition will make you lose focus on your own goals. If Steve Jobs just cared about being "better than average", he'd have studied harder and got a 4.0 GPA instead of a 2.5. Instead, he focused on his own goals, and crafted a life that's out of the ordinary. Bill Gates got As everywhere, but he wasn't doing that to be better than everyone else, but because he loves learning, and understanding everything. If he only cared about getting good grades to be "above average", he wouldn't have skipped all his graded classes to attend ones he didn't even sign up for.If you have a dream, chase it with all your heart, even if it's against society's expectations. If you like that girl/guy who you think is absolutely beautiful/handsome, but that your friends don't find attractive, go for her/him, all that matters is what she/he means to you.Life isn't mathematical, where you add up all the aspects of your life and you get a number telling you how well you're doing, it's more like "I feel like today is a good day", "I regret what I did yesterday", "Looking forward to giving that presentation next week!", "I can't believe how lucky I am to have met her, I love her so much", "That adventure was really fun!"
