I have searched this subreddit for the best way to use Facebook ads but the best threads were based around people's specific case studies which is great but I think that it would be useful to have a general guide/discussion on these.
I have read articles on Facebook ads and even those claiming that they are amazing do not seem to generate particularly great results. The best they can seem to do is generate brand awareness (how would you even measure the effect that FB ads have on this?) and sign ups to an email list (which only have 20%-30% open rate at best these days anyway).
Facebook users are obviously in a social frame of mind when on there and just often clicking away at anything, even things that they are not bothered about. I've also heard about click farms with regards to FB ads. I've tried them with a web design service as well as a home accessory affiliate website I have at the moment and the results were OK (better with the home accessory site) in terms of traffic and behaviour but still pretty low quality in the grand scheme of things.
What would you say are the best types of business/project to use Facebook ads with? What kind of conversion should people look for when using them?
