Dropping off item sold on eBay rather than shipping

I've started dabbling in selling on eBay and I sold a product with free shipping.

However, I received the item I was selling a bit later than planned and I would now like to drop it off to the customer in the interest of getting it to them without any additional shipping complications over this holiday weekend/Monday.

If the customer is agreeable to it, would this complicate receiving their payment (I'm also a new seller so there's already a moderate delay period anyway) and/or allow for them to dispute it after receiving the product (not that they would, but hypothetically speaking)?
