I'm not new to web design, but I am new to getting traffic and rankings. Really any time I try to learn about real SEO techniques I end up on some seriously watered down blogs of 'masters' who, after hours of reading, don't really tell me much at all. I always feel like SEO is some mystery topic. These days I see things about building up social media profiles being essential, and that keywords are dead - yet, I run into a lot of Wantrepenuers with ghost town social media sites, post after post with no interaction. Googling SEO inevitably steers towards hiring foreigners to give you phony traffic at the high risk of getting penalized by Google. This is the loop that runs round and round as I search SEO... it's getting old. Yet with Entrepenuer talk, bloggers are able to get themselves loads of traffic - they're doing something I know nothing about - any solid practices I should be implementing now? I feel like I can't get the real scoop on this - how are people getting traffic in a week?
