Sole Proprietors, how do you deal with missed calls when you are working?

Success has a lot to do with your sense of being Find out how to train yourself to make money and stay in tune with your mind, body and soul

I'm running an appointment based computer repair business and I also currently work part time while trying to ramp up business with the aim of working for myself full time.

Since I'm not selling product, I rely on email & phone calls from potential customers, however I can't answer the phone when at the other job, and if I'm at an appointment I feel it's rude to answer the phone on someone else's time.

Quite often people don't leave voice-mails, so I'm wondering what you guys do in this situation? I know virtual assistants are an option so would love to hear from people who have had experience with them.
