Suggestions on how to get the attention of elderly community?

My friends and I have an idea for a product that can help senior citizens safely maintain more of their independence.

So far I've looked into Facebook pages that relate to people in the medical field, with the intent of reaching out to the admins of these pages once we have a physical product, with the hope that the admins will tell their audience about our product. We hope that in effect, nurses and CNAs will see our product and will share the news with senior citizens they think could benefit from it.

We also plan to get reviews from respected individuals who have professions that entail assisting the elderly. So far I plan on asking the owner of a home care agency and the director of an adult daycare to review the product, and hopefully in turn spread the word on their own.

So basically, we have a few ideas on how we can spread the word to people who could likely share the idea, but aren't sure of how we could reach our target directly.

Any ideas or suggestions would be a huge help.
