Thinking about selling with a print-on-demand site like Redbubble or Deny Designs. What are your experiences?

Success has a lot to do with your sense of being Find out how to train yourself to make money and stay in tune with your mind, body and soul

I'm considering putting some of my art up on redbubble or a similar print-on-demand site to sell. Mainly I'm thinking mainly bath & home stuff, t-shirts and hoodies for my simpler designs rather than the more traditional art prints. However I have some concerns, so I'm hoping that someone who's worked with one of these places will chime in with their experience.

  • Concerning redbubble: (just fyi, I'm so sorry if this is untrue. I hate to further spread malicious internet gossip. If anyone can provide some evidence against this, I'll happily edit the post to include it) I came across some comments online stating that they will delete your account with no warning and continue to sell your work, particularly if you become popular. Supposedly there's something in the fine print that allows them to do this. I don't see how they could still be in business if that's true, but it does concern me. I'd hate to put all the energy and time into building a brand on there just to have it brand-jacked. Also, I read that they are based in Australia, which makes me worry about my standing if things did go sideways.
  • Has anyone worked with Deny Designs? They have a pretty slick site and interface with lots of offerings (no clothing though unfortunately), are based in CO, and seem like they're overall much more open to contact than redbubble. However you have to apply to be an artist with them and I can't find any info on their commissions and rates. It seems like a smaller company so I wonder if they have a big enough customer base.
  • Any other print-on-demand sites you like?
  • If you're comfortable sharing, I'd like to hear some ballpark ideas of how much you're making and how long you've been doing this, and if there's anything you wish you'd known when you started.

I appreciate any input. I'm not doing this for primary income, just for fun and some extra cash. However I've learned the hard way to do my due diligence and talk to people before getting into stuff like this.
