So far so good... 6 total bookings with 3 recurring. Here's an advertising breakdown..

• Google adwords spent = $75. 5 bookings averaging $15 per acquisition. Total profit from Adwords = $200

• Facebook and Instagram ads spend = $115 with 0 bookings. Cost per acquisition so far is $115 (not effective). Total loss = $115

• Total flyers = 200 at a cost of $35. We dropped off 25 flyers so far with 1 booking. Cost per acquisition is $4.37. Profit = $35.63

Total profit (excluding start up cost) = $120.63

Obviously this is for a very short time frame and test size and I'm relying heavily on online marketing alone because I'm running a larger company. If you can put your feet on the ground and go promote door to door or business to business you will have many more bookings for the cost of your time alone.

Takeaway so far is I will stop running Facebook and Instagram ads or look into find why they're not converting and fix it. I'll take the money I was spending on those ads and put them into Google Adwords instead. Since I don't have the time to drop flyers I'll either run a direct mail campaign to a couple thousand houses for $500 or pay some neighborhood kids to drop off flyers.

Issues I've run into is our original contractor being unwilling to drive more than 20 mins to cut a lawn. We solved that by putting out a Craigslist post offering $35 to cut lawns on the other side of the city. We got around 15 responses in the first 20 mins and found a few stellar contractors willing to hit houses within the customers selected timeframe.

Important thing to note and a few customers have commented on is the professionalism of our branding. Branding is EXTREMELY important in this market. We made a few tshirts with our brand on them and mailed them out to the contractors that wear them on jobs they do for us.
