ProductHunt. For those of you who have been 'hunted' - what does it take?

I'll be honest. I've never really spent a ton of time on ProductHunt. I created an account years ago, and check it probably monthly - but I'm definitely not an expert on the inner workings.

However, someone reached out to me this week and said to get get my ducks in a row - because they want to submit me to ProductHunt.

I do not want to end up on their "blacklist". I don't have a large enough folllowing of people to ask to upvote me.

What should i do to ensure a successful submission?
