Have been selling on Amazon full time for 3 years so never had to really learn the marketing game. Feels entrepreneurial but I really don't like knowing that someone else has control to turn my account completely off. I run a tight ship, dont break thier rules, but still....
So I decided to branch out. I have a 6 week old brick and mortar, and a very new ecommerce site & and pretty much no idea where to even start marketing it. We consign with other FBA sellers to sell their overstocks & returns. It does solve a problem that FBA sellers have. Getting inventory is not an issue. Selling said inventory is of utmost importance.
Have had suggestions to start content marketing, but I am struggling to think of what that looks like? Is it all rolled together on the same site? Is this just the trendy thing nowadays? WTH do I even talk about? This idea does not really excite me.
There are a zillion Amazon / FBA / niche inventory bloggers and content people. I have zero interest talking about that.
Ultimately, my goal is to create an effective marketing plan and build something that is truly my own. I have one product that I completely own the rights to, and would also like to build out private label / white label products. So 5 year plan would be a reliable brick and mortar, but with majority of business flowing through ecommerce, including PL / WL products.
But again....PL / WL is useless if it is not marketed properly.
TL;DR Am good at acquiring inventory. Know nothing about marketing an ecommerce site, especially one that sells across lots of categories.
