I have a side business, it is a niche product that I more or less invented. It cost about $25 grand in startup capital. I've ran it for about 2-3 years and the business model is profitable, but I haven't made much with it yet.
After having run it for a while, I think that I really need a partner who has a very specific role, to help me design and market products. I was thinking of offering 15% of the gross receipts from the products that they help with. This way, they don't have to front any money, and there isn't any confusion about ownership. And if the relationship works out, then we could explore other options about becoming more involved.
I would need to find a product designer (preferably who can use 3d design software and is local to me) who is interested in entrepreneurship and likes the idea of helping build something without having to put in startup capital. But I'm not sure where to go about finding someone like that, without knowing them first.
Has anyone here found a business partner that they did not already have a relationship with, and how did they go about doing it?
