I just wanted to drop in really quickly to tell you about the best skill I've learned in the past two years, which has been responsible for over 90% of my earnings and of the growth of my business at large.
I've learned to create videos.
When I first started out I only recorded screencast videos, tutorial likes and sold them as a service on different forums (such as the warriorforum), and they sold very easily. Turns out a lot of marketers want videos for their sales pages, for info products or for their Youtube channel. Some even asked me to record myself testing their Wordpress theme/software.
If you can provide a service for a reasonable price then you won't be looking for customers too long. If I had to start over I'd probably start there as well.
More than selling them as a service, I've moved on to creating video courses on platforms such as Udemy and Skillshare, bothwith a pay-per-sale model and a revenue share model, and this is how I make a living today. I research topics that are getting tractions and make a video course on the subject.
Video creation is a great skill to learn. It's fun, and for me at least it was the edge that I needed to move forward. Nowadays I use them any chance I get: I run Youtube ads, have a channel on Youtube, use them on capture pages, etc..
Video is the most consumed media in the world.
