How to get people to sign up on a mail list, any suggestions?

I am doing a startup where I want to run a Kickstarter campaign in the near future. Just to check if people are interested in my product, I made a website and a facebook page . However after 3 days I have not got the amount of response I had been hoping for. Not too many has signed up on my mail list. What would you do to get more people to sign up, or spread the word? I do not have much money to spend on facebook advertising, so the best would be if people shared on their own. I am now planning to ship out some product samples to climbers out there to make them write about the product. Any other suggestions?
