So, I just received my quote from my freight forwarder and was wondering if someone who is either one, or who works as one can help me out with this as some of the charges seem ridiculous. I asked for an itemized quote and this is what I received.
1)Jiangmen to Shenzhen: $25/CBM or per 500Kgs, estimated 850KGS=1.7CBM, estimated $42.50
2) Origin handling in Shenzhen: $230.00, including documents, handling, telex released, AMS, Customs clearance (with export license)…., (you will need to pay this since FOB Jiangmen term).
3) Ocean freight from Shenzhen CFS to Chicago CFS: $115/CBM, for 1CBM, $115.00.
4) Customs entry in Chicago: $85.00 (Will need POA to be signed).
5) ISF filing: $50.00
6) Duty: at cost, no quote, will need HS code for duty rate and commercial value.
7) Single Bond entry: $5.00 per $1000.00 commercial invoice with $55 min. charge. no quote, will need HS code for duty rate and commercial value.
8) ISF bond fee: $100.00
9) Co-loader: estimated $100.00
10) Terminal charges in Chicago CFS: estimated $110.00
11) Import H/C: $50 each shipment.
12) Delivery: not quoted if you pick up cargo by yourself
Estimated total: $882.50 (not including duty, single bond and Customs exam at both sides)
Will greatly appreciate the insight as this is my first order by sea.
