[Possible Opportunity] Why hasn't this exploded yet?

Success has a lot to do with your sense of being Find out how to train yourself to make money and stay in tune with your mind, body and soul

Disclaimer: I do not work for, nor do I have any connection with this company. I think it's a really good idea and I'm wondering why it hasn't taken off.

Check out what these guys have done!

JustVisual, Inc. has created a product that identifies clothes in any picture. All you do is supply the picture, manually crop it to the section you want to analyze, and run their search. It's actually pretty damn accurate as well. I tried with a few random pictures and the matches were spot on or damn close. They also have an iOS app called LikeThat Style that lets you snap pictures of clothes and it finds them for you.

This company has been around for a few years now. It is VC funded and, as far as I know, still going strong. The style app has been out for a couple years now as well but, from the number of reviews, I don't believe it has many downloads. There are a few other companies in this space as well with less successful products.

Why hasn't this technology caught on yet? I've been operating in this space for a little while now and, before researching computer vision, I thought this was the Holy Grail, the answer to the market needs. I must be wrong but I don't understand why.

Any ideas?
