This question has doubled my signups

Success has a lot to do with your sense of being Find out how to train yourself to make money and stay in tune with your mind, body and soul

TL;DR: Adding a question before asking for email doubled the signups on one of my big content sites!

If you have a site one of the important things (thats what "they" all tell you) is to build a list from your visitors - so you can ask them to come back to your site, build relationship, etc.

Anyway, one very effective way to do it is with popup (I found the full screen takeover to be the most effective). But, just recently I have discovered a very simple yet effective way to double the signups: Add a question before asking for the email.

After the user replies (usually a yes/no question is great, so the user only needs to click on a yes/no button) then you show her the signup page (depending on the reply).

Try it and see how your signups sky rocket.

You can see my stats and the theory behind it here.

Let me know what you think.
