Duplicating and Already Successful Small Business?

Greetings, I've been a lurker on this /r/ for awhile now. I'm in my early 20's and spend a lot of time working on side businesses to help earn extra income. I've been looking for a new side business that can be automated but also grow (something like drop shipping).

On a recent trip to California I found a drop shipping/monthly subscription box company that seems to match my criteria and is doing well (from what I've researched). They're only on the West coast and haven't even begun advertising or accessing the East coast market.

Starting a subscription box service wouldn't cost much more than; website, marketing, and product. Could someone chime in with some of the risks/benefits of me essentially doing the exact same thing these guys are doing?
